"Project X" style-party film, with the comedy of "Superbad." Type-casting three Sydney Sweeney roles in addition to a male antagonist role. This is a high school based film, cast must look the age. 18+

Denver's first Puerto Rican theatre, will have it's newest play, a drama about Boricua poet and activist Julia, premiere August 4-18 at a Theatre in Denver, CO. We are looking for Latina actresses between the ages of 18 and 65. Auditions will be virtual. We are looking primarily for bilingual actresses, but a role is available that does not require Spanish. 

Empire of Solitude is an experimental drama based on the poetry of Julia(1914-1953) that chronicles her mental state in the last week of her life. Told through the eyes of the four personalities that Burgos embodies in her poetry--Feminine, Poetess, Revolutionary, and Wife--the play is an examination of the way misogyny, both societal and internalized, creates an isolated existence where it is impossible to be accepted by others while being true to yourself. Fueled by alcohol, despair, and biting humor, Julia de Burgos struggles to locate the key to finding peace in the waning hours of her life.

This project was created by Summer, co-written with Olyvia Chac-Nguyen and produced by Stephanie Duong and SUM SUM Productions. This project is meant to be a short film narrative exploring the themes of identity, multi-cultural family dynamics, adversity with racism and microaggressions and the beauty of letting go. The team is made up of a predominately Vietnamese-American production team. 

Adopted by their immigrant grandparents, a Vietnamese-American kid longs for self-acceptance and discovers the reality of letting go.
